GLF Schools was founded in 2012 in order to enable the federation of Glyn School (an academy in 2011) and Danetree Junior School. Together, we began our journey to become a MAT of more than 1000 talented staff working with over 10,000 children in 40 schools across 5 regions in southern England.

Year 12 Prefect Applications

Year 12 Prefect Applications

Next week we will be launching the next cycle of Student Leadership opportunities for our Year 12 cohort.  These roles within the school are vital and include a range of responsibilities. Year 12 students are first invited to apply for the role of a Prefect and then subsequent opportunities to become a Senior Prefect, or a part of the Head Boy and Head Girl team, will follow.  The main responsibilities include:

  • To lead the Student Body.
  • Mentor Lower School students.
  • Facilitate clubs for Lower School students.
  • Run weekly Form Time activities.
  • Peer support and guidance.  
  • Help at many events, representing the school.
  • Work with staff members.

Our Student Leadership team are role models within the school, and I encourage any Year 12 student who thinks they would be a positive role model to make an application. Students will receive a Prefect Application Form via Schoolcomms on Monday 1 February.  The deadline for applications is Friday 5 February.

We look forward to appointing the Prefects and seeing them flourish in supporting students across the whole school.
