Uniform, Personal Appearance and Stationery / Equipment
Please see the table below for the school’s uniform list, including details of required and optional uniform requirements, and where to buy specific items.
Our school uniform provider is Stevenson's in Epsom:
Glyn School Uniform from Stevensons
Stevenson's stock a large range of items, but other than those listed below, all other items are optional.
Years 7 to 11
- Glyn School blazer
- Plain white shirt
- Plain black trousers - No denim, no skinny trousers, and no black canvas fabric
- House tie (with at least 5 stripes showing!) - colours depend on your House
- Plain black or grey socks
- Plain black shoes - No boots, trainers, canvas shoes, plimsolls, suede, or anything with logos or fancy stitching
Optional Items
- Plain black V-neck jumper
PE Kit (All Year Round)
You’ll need these for every PE lesson:
- Glyn School PE T-shirt (with logo)
- Plain royal blue shorts
- Plain white socks
- Non-marking trainers (so they don’t mark the sports hall floor!)
- Cap + sunscreen for sunny days — yes, PE happens whatever the weather!
Winter Games Kit - For football & rugby lessons at Priest Hill — September to April
You’ll need:
- Reversible royal blue/gold games shirt
- Royal blue shorts (any shop)
- Plain royal blue football socks (no stripes or logos)
- Football or rugby boots
- Shin pads + gum shield (essential for safety)
- Woolly hat + gloves for cold days!
Personal Appearance
General - unless otherwise directed by Head of School
- Blazers must be worn at all times.
- Shirts must be tucked in, with the top button done up.
- Tie tied in-line with shirt top button, with a minimum of 5 stripes showing.
Headwear and Religious Clothing
- Religious headwear may be worn (for religious purposes only) and should be either plain black or navy.
- Baseball caps and bandanas may not be worn.
- Hair should be neat, tidy and appropriate for a professional working environment (as defined by the school).
- Extreme styles and hair colouring will not be permitted (as defined by the school).
- Shaved lines in hair or eyebrows are not permitted.
Make-Up
- Subtle make-up in neutral colours is permitted
Nail Varnish
- Nail varnish is not permitted.
- Nails should not be a length that may cause injury to others (as defined by the school).
Jewellery/Tattoos/Piercings
- No jewellery should be worn to school.
- Students are not allowed earrings, facial studs, ear expanders or any other earrings.
- Tattoos are not acceptable.
Coats and Bags
- Coats, when they need to be worn, should be a plain colour and style compatible with school uniform and student safety. It is recommended that detachable luminous strips and/or arm bands are used by cyclists in the winter months.
- Jackets or coats that the school deems as ‘hoodies’ are not permitted. Logos are not allowed. Leather, denim, sheepskin, sports tops, hoodies, or large jumpers must not be worn instead of a coat.
- All students are expected to use a school bag that fits an A4 folder inside, is robust and sensible.
The decision about what is and is not acceptable will always remain with the school. Students are also expected to adhere to the uniform rules on the journey to and from school.
Stationery / Equipment
The following items are a requirement:
- Black or blue pen
- Green pen (for marking)
- Pencil
- Ruler
- Rubber
- Sharpener
- Scientific Calculator, Casio FX-85GTCW+ (for KS3 and KS4/ Years 7-11) and the Casio fx-991 CW (for KS5/ Sixth Form)
- Reading book
- PE and Games kit on PE and Games days
The following items are suggested optional items:
- Highlighter pen
- Pritt Stick
DT: Craft Apron (unbleached or carpenter style apron with pocket) - optional
Languages: For use at home – optional:
French: Oxford School Learner's French Dictionary
Spanish: Oxford School Learner’s Spanish Dictionary
Pre-loved Uniform
Glyn School hold a pre-loved uniform sale, every day from 3.15pm to 4.15pm, to allow Parents and Carers to purchase items. Please go to Main Reception and you will be directed to the sale.
Many families purchase pre-loved uniform either as ‘spares’ or to replace items that have been outgrown.
Payment for items will be made via your ParentPay account or via Debit/Credit Card at the point of purchase.
The pre-loved uniform shop is able to run due to the generous donations from our families. If you have any surplus uniform, we will gladly accept this. Please bring uniform donations to Main Reception. Please note that we are no longer able to accept books or electronic items, as we are unable to recycle these.

Alternate Arrangements
If you qualify for Pupil Premium or Free School Meals, you will be eligible for funded uniform items.
If financial support is required to assist in purchasing uniform items in times of financial hardship, please contact the Head of Year.
