GLF Schools was founded in 2012 in order to enable the federation of Glyn School (an academy in 2011) and Danetree Junior School. Together, we began our journey to become a MAT of more than 1000 talented staff working with over 10,000 children in 40 schools across 5 regions in southern England.

Welcome to our Year 7 Team!
We’re all here to help you settle in, feel confident, and enjoy your first year with us.

Senior Leadership Team

Headteacher - Mrs J Garrod

Mrs Garrod leads our school and makes sure every student has the best possible start to their education. She loves meeting new Year 7s and hearing about what they’re excited to learn.

Assistant Headteacher (Transition & KS3) – Mrs E Pearson

Mrs Pearson oversees your transition into Year 7 and works closely with families to make sure everyone feels supported. She can’t wait to welcome you in September.

The Pastoral Team

Head of Year 7 - Miss J Stanton

Mrs Stanton looks after the whole year group and is the person who will help you navigate life in secondary school. 

In Year 7, Mrs Stanton and her team are here to support you during your time at Glyn School and will drop into your Form Periods and lessons at least once a week to see how you are doing.

Deputy Head of Year 7 - Miss S Davies

Miss Davies works very closely with our Head of Year 7 and will help you settle into Glyn School and to also ensure that you succeed and do well. 

Your Year 7 Form Tutors

You’ll meet your Form Tutor on your very first day. They’ll be with you every morning to help you start the day positively and answer questions about homework, clubs, or school life.

You will be in one of eight different Form Groups when you start.  Each Form Group is led by a Form Tutor and you will see your Form Tutor every day.  Your Form Tutor is there to help you to settle into Glyn School, be the key contact for your Parents or Carers and will help you with any problems that you may have.

Other Friendly Faces You’ll Meet

  • Student Reception Team - They look after you if you are feeling unwell and also try re-unite you with lost property - ideally all items need to be named to help with this process.
  • Library Team - Book lovers who are always ready to recommend the perfect read.
  • Canteen Team - They make sure you’re well-fed with tasty lunches and snacks.
  • Site Team - The people who keep the school running smoothly and safely.
