Uniform and Equipment Guide

Your Everyday School Uniform

Here’s what you’ll wear from Monday to Friday:

  • Glyn School blazer 
  • Plain white shirt 
  • Plain black trousers - No denim, no skinny trousers, and no black canvas fabric
  • House tie (with at least 5 stripes showing!) - colours depend on your House 
  • Plain black or grey socks
  • Plain black shoes - No boots, trainers, canvas shoes, plimsolls, suede, or anything with logos or fancy stitching

Optional Items

  • Plain black V-neck jumper 

PE Kit (All Year Round)

You’ll need these for every PE lesson:

  • Glyn School PE T-shirt (with logo) 
  • Plain royal blue shorts  
  • Plain white socks 
  • Non-marking trainers (so they don’t mark the sports hall floor!) 
  • Cap + sunscreen for sunny days — yes, PE happens whatever the weather!

Winter Games Kit - For football & rugby lessons at Priest Hill — September to April

You’ll need:

  • Reversible royal blue/gold games shirt
  • Royal blue shorts (any shop)
  • Plain royal blue football socks (no stripes or logos) 
  • Football or rugby boots 
  • Shin pads + gum shield (essential for safety)
  • Woolly hat + gloves for cold days! 

Appearance Rules You Need to Know

To keep things smart and the same for everyone:

  • Blazers must be worn at all times.
  • Shirts must be tucked in and your top button done up. 
  • Your tie must show at least 5 stripes
  • Hair should be neat and suitable for a school environment.

Headwear

  • Religious headwear is allowed — must be plain black or navy. 
  • No baseball caps or bandanas. 

Equipment you will need

Inorder to ensure that you can access every lesson, we expect every student to arrive fully prepared.
Here’s your basic equipment list:

  • Black or blue pen
  • Green pen (for marking)
  • Pencil
  • Ruler
  • Rubber
  • Sharpener
  • Calculator
  • Reading book
  • PE and Games kit on PE and Games days

Don't Worry - You will get used to it

Every Year 7 feels nervous about uniform and making sure you have everything you need each day at first, but you’ll quickly learn:

  • what to wear
  • when to wear it
  • and how to stay organised

Before you know it, putting on your Glyn uniform will feel totally normal.
