GRAFFITI PROJECT
A group of our students were privileged to be involved in a local community project, developing a graffiti mural in the underpass near Miles Road and Stones Road in Epsom. They worked alongside Positive Arts UK and Epsom and Ewell Borough Council for this project. The mural focuses on the horse racing heritage of the borough and enables students to have a positive contribution to their local community.
Luca S said “I’ve really enjoyed the picture we’re drawing of racing horses on The Downs. It’s taught me how to control a spray can for artistic purposes. It should really brighten up the underpass and I hope local residents enjoy seeing our work”.
We were thrilled that our students could be involved in this project again. They’ve built on the skills they learnt last year and even re-designed the side of a building on the school site. It’s been great to see students from different year groups work together on this community project, they have learnt valuable transferable skills in doing so.
With thanks to Ms Wilson-David and Mrs Sobihy for overseeing this project.
