Glyn School Ski Trip 2025

The Glyn School Ski Trip this year turned out to be an adventure for all of those involved. This year Glyn School took 51 very excited students to Salbaach in Austria, where they were given fantastic opportunities to ski on some of the best slopes in Europe, and luckily during perfect weather.

After a very restful night after the long coach journey, some student’s hopped onto ski’s for the very first time, while the intermediate groups started to get grips with skiing again.

Throughout the week, student’s showed great resilience and great improvement of their skiing by challenging themselves by attempting blue, red and even black runs! On one occasion both the higher groups even managed to ski on a run that world championship skiers have raced on!

As it was my first time on the trip I was very impressed with the monumental amount of effort and organization that goes towards the ski trip. Everything ran smoothly, and even if there was a hiccup, it was resolved quickly. I was also impressed by the amount of activities available in the evening, such as a very competitive quiz night, swimming in two different outdoor pools surrounded by mountains, and watching a very exciting ice hockey game which ended 7-6!

The student’s all showed great kindness towards each other and helped encourage each other throughout the trip, especially, when some were struggling skiing. I watched them build relationships with each other and hopefully memories that will last with them for the rest of their life.
