GLYN U18's START STRONG
GLYN U18's START STRONG
By delaying the U18 National Vase to next week, this allowed a large squad of 26, to travel to Reed's, Cobham for a triangular pre season fixture including St Benedicts and Reeds 2XVs.
Glyn played Reed's first which they came away as 24-0 victors. A really clinical and solid defensive display gave the 15 who played this half a real sense of good things to come this season. With over 10 changes for the second match, Glyn started slowly as the storm clouds came in. Some patient play and adjustment to the wet conditions, meant Glyn came out 15-5 winners vs St Benedicts. The main takeaways were that we have healthy competition for lots of places this season and the leadership of the team is a real strength that will be needed in games when they are close.
It was really pleasing to see lots of returning faces but also some new faces who have played their first game for Glyn School. It was also the first game that our teams wore the fantastic new Macron kit. This kit is proudly sponsored by Jigsaw who are a corporate diagramming company with Old Glynonians linked to the company. A big thank you also to the parents that came and supported, as well as Mr Dawson and Simon for expert coaching.
