House Music Finals
There is always so much to celebrate here at Glyn School and this week did not disappoint. Yesterday evening, we were treated to the House Music Finals: an evening of musical delights, showcasing the many talented musicians we are lucky enough to have at Glyn School. After the challenges of the past couple of years and the lack of opportunities for our students to perform and for our families to listen to live music; it was wonderful to come together for such a feel-good occasion. Huge thanks to the Music Department; Mrs Davis and Mr Cooke, who organised the evening, all the performers for entertaining us and many congratulations to the winners. There were many stand-out performances, not least from Lucas (9SB), who played his own composition, "The Rising", on the guitar. It was not just a consummate performance, but it was also a very well-crafted piece of music. The overall winner, Gene (7M) wowed us all with his talent. His piano performance was nothing short of breath-taking and a privilege to watch and listen to. When he played you could hear a pin drop. Gene was not only deserving of this award for his performance, but also for the hours he practises each day to hone his craft. If there were ever such an example of the power of practice, from one of our students, this was it.
