GLF Schools was founded in 2012 in order to enable the federation of Glyn School (an academy in 2011) and Danetree Junior School. Together, we began our journey to become a MAT of more than 1000 talented staff working with over 10,000 children in 40 schools across 5 regions in southern England.

Charity Challenge for Lewis 8M

Incredible Charity Challenge for Lewis 8M

I was delighted (and, quite frankly, exhausted!) to hear about Lewis 8M’s recent charity fundraising event in the Lake District in aid of The Royal Marsden Cancer Charity.

Lewis cycled 18km, including a steep 20-minute hill climb, hiked for four hours up Old Man Coniston in the rain and mist, and finished with a 1.5k kayak around Coniston Water. We heard that Lewis led from the front all day and did not complain once. Lewis’ immense challenge raised just over £1,500 for the Royal Marsden Cancer Charity.

Lewis is an absolute credit to the school, his family and himself.
