Glyn School Has Gone International!
We are delighted to announce that Glyn School has gone international!
A group of enthusiastic Year 8 Glyn School students has connected with like-minded students from St Christopher's School in Nairobi, Kenya, to learn about each other's cultures and experiences within their respective countries. The students involved all have a passion for internationalism, and I am delighted that they have chosen to give up their time outside of lessons to get involved with such an exciting project.
So far, we have had a Google Meet Q&A session between the two schools; both sets of students asked inciteful and inquisitive questions to try to gain a better understanding of everyday life, for example, how Covid-19 has affected their respective countries, and what makes their respective countries unique. Mr Lightfoot and I were extremely impressed by the level of engagement and maturity shown by the students during this meeting.
Moving forward, this project will be rooted in addressing issues around climate change. For our next meeting, the students from both schools will be completing mini projects to raise awareness of climate change and presenting them virtually to one another.
Well done to all involved. This is an exciting opportunity for both schools to help students to leave school as well-informed global citizens!
