Athletics Success for Ashton 11 Oaks
Ashton 11 Oaks competed in an athletics competition in Worthing during the Bank Holiday weekend, entering both the 100m sprint and 100m hurdles.
Ashton is very dedicated to his training and, having worked especially hard during lockdown, his hard work, commitment, and passion for the two events were rewarded with first place in the 100m hurdles and a personal best (PB) in the 100m sprint, running 11:75.
Ashton’s times:
100m hurdle - 13:96
100m sprint - 11:75 (PB)
Ashton’s time for the 100m hurdles has now ranked him 1st in the UK ‘Power of 10’ rankings. With this result, we are hoping he will be selected to compete in Surrey Schools’ competitions in the summer.
As a school, we are extremely proud of Ashton and his commitment to his training over the past year, during very difficult circumstances; he used the time wisely. We wish Ashton much success for his future performances.
