Year 12 and 13 Careers Workshops - Preparing for Next Steps
Platform7teen last week delivered its second workshop to Year 12 and Year 13 Glyn students, helping with their progression from school to vocational training, a job or indeed to university.
The workshop is delivered by Platform7teens unique use of Forum Theatre Workshops the power of which can be harnessed to improve participants verbal and non-verbal communication skills. These skills are particularly important in a context of interviews, a critical stepping stone for a students successful progression from school.
The workshop was possible through the generosity of a local business, Matchfit, who have financially sponsored this event to cover the costs. Platform7teen is a non profit charitable organisation, wholly run by volunteers and relies on such generosity.
As a charitable organisation, Platform7teen are always looking for additional sponsors and if any Parents or Carers who work in, or own a business that would be open to sponsoring this workshop next year Platform7teen would love to hear from you.
With school budgets under considerable pressure it is Platform7teen's aim to to provide these workshops to schools without them having to use their reserves or divert funds from other important activities.
If you are able to help, please contact Mark Hutton, Chair of Trustees Platform7teen at mark@platform7teen.co.uk to explore the potential for sponsorship. Platform7teen recognise any contributions and will work with any sponsoring company to publicise to the local community their generosity in facilitating this initiative.
