Platform7Teen Supporting our Students with their Next Steps
On Friday 17 March a group of Year 11 and Year 13 students took take part in a Next Steps Careers Workshop delivered by the registered charity Platform7Teen. Platform7Teen’s mission is to help improve employability and life skills of young people (16-18 years) in schools and colleges and this will be the focus of the workshop session on Friday.
Throughout the session the following areas where covered:
- Communication - Developing the ability of young people to communicate effectively in higher education, training environments and the work place
- Leadership - Helping young people appreciate and understand the skills needed to be an effective and compassionate leader
- Thinking - Improving young people's ability to solve problems, think laterally and enquire independently
- Awareness - Enhancing the emotional intelligence of young people and developing their ability to take responsibility within work and educational environments
Bradley Honnor, the Founder and Managing Director of Match Fit and Global Eloquence generously sponsored the workshop for Glyn School. Bradley is incredibly supportive about the work Platform7Teen carry out and how it improves interview and communication skills for young people. We are extremely grateful to him for this very kind donation. Since 2016, Platform7teen has been working in partnership with many Surrey schools and colleges in delivering these workshops and they rely on the generosity of individuals, as in this case with Bradley Honnor.
Students who have taken part previously in this workshop have ranked the workshop as follows:
