1XV Rugby Glyn vs Reigate Grammar National Vase Round 3
The opposition, Reigate Grammar has a rich history of quality Rugby teams. This team was no different as they capitalised on Glyn errors and some well worked moves.
The team were definitely pumped up when Gus (13T) latched on to an Artie (13T) break to score under the posts, all looked good going forward. This was the last time until the 2nd half that Glyn entered the Reigate 22 metre line, due to unforced errors and some good interchanges by our opponents.
The second half saw Josh (12M2) on debut, score a try, but it was too little too late. This year’s ‘Vase’ run comes to an end earlier than all had hoped, however, the determination and quality of rugby that the team showed, led superbly by Josh (13SB) is to be admired. Lots more games remain, including a floodlit game at Dorking Rugby club against Reigate Grammar just before Christmas.
Thank you to the Parents’ and Carers’ support and teachers that came to watch, and most importantly to Coach Simon whose support has been fantastic this season.
Mr Ellis Head of Rugby & 1XV Head Coach.
