Year 11 DT Days
Year 11 Design and Technology students had the opportunity to work for an extended period of time on their NEA (National Education Association) coursework tasks this week. The option to work in this way allowed for practical work to make greater progress, and for students to experiment and develop their design ideas into workable solutions.
DT subjects are under the same ‘umbrella’ award, with students in separate groups opting to focus on different specialist areas. In ‘Resistant Materials: Timbers Based Materials’, students are able to model practical projects and to make sure final ideas are correct in both form and function. In ‘Graphics’, students are solving problems using 2D, 3D and IT graphic media. In ‘DT Systems and Control’, work involves modelling circuits using a range of input, process and output components.
The extended time during DT Days was a great help to students. The creativity and problem solving demonstrated was innovative and very detailed. Thank you to all who took part, and to those who supported our Year 11 DT students.
