GLF Schools was founded in 2012 in order to enable the federation of Glyn School (an academy in 2011) and Danetree Junior School. Together, we began our journey to become a MAT of more than 1000 talented staff working with over 10,000 children in 40 schools across 5 regions in southern England.

Welcome to a very special edition of Reading News, where we celebrate the incredible creativity, passion, and literary achievements of our students across the school. Throughout these pages, you will find a selection of student work that highlights the joy and power of reading and writing. From thoughtful poetry to insightful book reviews, each piece reflects the unique voices and perspectives that exist within our school community.

Reading has the power to transport us to new worlds, spark new ideas, and connect us with others. This issue celebrates those moments of discovery and inspiration that reading brings to our lives. It also provides a platform for students to share their work, celebrate their peers, and foster a community built on a shared love of words and storytelling.

We hope you enjoy this special edition and feel inspired by the creativity and effort poured into every piece. Thank you to all the students who contributed their work and to the teachers, Mrs Woolridge and families who encourage reading and writing every day.
