Exceptional Combining of Skills
Kiran 11SB is studying both IT and DT and is really interested in developing projects which can be used in industrial contexts and be advanced into commercial products.
Kiran’s current project combines his coding skills developed in GCSE Computing with practical and electronic skills developed in GCSE DT: Systems and Control. The product uses a series of codes programmed through an interface device to produce more than 16 million different lighting sequences (2563 for the mathematically minded). The strip lighting is rotated using a 12V motor controlled through an electronic circuit. The frame was manufactured using the school laser cutting machine which was funded by the Glyn PSA.
What Kiran has created is a great example of what can be achieved when imaginative thinking is combined with technical knowledge. He is an exceptionally creative student with a great work ethic; fantastic work all round.
